Thank goodness it was raining during this first look, because Andrew & Kylei couldn’t see how much I was blubbering over how precious it was. I drove all the way out to Dekalb, so excited to finally join these two on their wedding day. We had done their engagement session months before, and I just fell in love with them. They are the kindest people, and it was so beautiful to witness how sweet the love they have for each other is. I should have known how touching this moment was going to be, and it still hit super hard. (Not to mention, the fall colors and romantic rain drops made me feel like I was watching a scene from a movie).
You’d be surprised how important the conversation about a first look is! I ask in my first meeting with clients if they’d like to do one or not. Many people want to stick to tradition and wait for that big moment when the doors open to the ceremony and you lock eyes for the first time, and many others would much rather have that moment happen just between the two of them, privately. Both are equally justifiable!
Don’t let anyone try to talk you into or out of either if you feel really passionately about doing it your preferred way. You and your partner deserve to live this moment exactly how you dream it will be. ❤️
